Jewelry helps enhance beauty. Another name for beauty is ‘abha.’ Abharangal is worn to enhance this abha. Wearing ornaments is not just for enhancing beauty. It encompasses good intentions such as removing sins, protecting health, devotion to deities, indicating status, and spiritual vision.

Fourteen specific places have been designated on the human body for wearing jewelry. These fourteen places are considered as the fourteen worlds. These are the head, neck, throat, ears, nose, shoulders, chin, waist, eyebrows, eyelashes, chest, fingers of the hand, fingers of the foot, and feet.

Of these fourteen positions, the most important are the head and the feet. The head represents the spiritual realm and the feet represent the earthly realm. In this sense, the crown with a pointed tip is worn by kings. The earth is considered as the foot of the creator. The earthly realm is governed by silver, which is the metal of its sovereignty. Therefore, silver ornaments in the form of serpents can be worn on the feet and toes. That is, it is forbidden to wear gold ornaments on the feet.

It is believed that gold stimulates human intellect and has unique abilities. Gold ornaments are to be worn above the abdomen. That is why it has become our tradition to adorn the bride with a gold necklace during the wedding ceremony.

The sacred and medicinal Tulsi contains a large amount of gold. The ‘Thangabhasmam’ made from it is a great medicine for beauty and intellect

The light of the sun, fire, and stars is golden in color. The sacred and medicinal Tulsi contains a large amount of gold. The ‘Thangabhasmam’ made from it is a great medicine for beauty and intellect. This is why the gods and goddesses are seen adorned with all kinds of ornaments, as there is a spiritual connection between creation and the universe.

Since the original man who created this universe was in the form of gold, the man’s sperm contains a trace of gold. This is the truth that science has proven. Gold also has a unique ability to stimulate the human intellect. That’s why pregnant women and infants are given gold along with medicines to eat.
